Since my blog is going live today (yay!) and it is Taco Tuesday, I figured I would post my recipe for a classic margarita along with my guacamole recipe! My boyfriend and I have been going down to our favorite Mexican restaurant and getting take away margys multiple times a week. Instead of spending $20 every time we want a marg, we decided to try and perfect our own. After a few weeks of attempts, we have finally found (what we think!) is the perfect classic margarita.

Ingredients:
1.5 oz Casamigos blanco tequila (or your preference)
1.5 oz Cointreu
3 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
1/2 tbsp sweetener (optional: agave, honey or simple syrup works!)
(optional) splash of soda water
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker, add ice, tequila, Cointreu, lime juice, and simple syrup
Shake, shake, shake it up!
Pour into salt-rimmed glass with lime wedge and enjoy!

Mix it up with some other fun margs:
If wanting something fruity - try adding fresh watermelon juice or mashed strawberries to the shaker and rim your glass with sugar
If you like a little kick - mix in sliced jalapeños and rim your glass with chili powder + salt
